Santa Ynez Recycling and Transfer Station Project

Santa Barbara County called the George Throop Company to discuss the possibility of replacing a large slab at the Santa Ynez Recycling and Transfer Station without losing much time. They have many customers that depend on the facility to receive and separate items that can be recycled. The process involves scraping a large slab with buckets from front-end loaders and the previous slab was completely worn out. The Throop Company suggested using both a very hard concrete aggregate along with Rapid Set concrete to solve their challenge. The County of Santa Barbara Recycling and Transfer Station did not lose one day of business and was very happy with the result.

On other Transfer Station projects we have substituted metal aggregates for regular aggregates in order to add even more strength to the concrete mix.
