General Manager Position Available at Construction Company
We are currently seeking an experienced and talented General Manager to join our team full-time at the George L. Throop Company.
We are a concrete production company located in Pasadena, California. The Throop Company has worked on almost every freeway or highway in southern California from San Diego to Santa Barbara. We have poured Rapid Set concrete, Type II concrete, and light-weight fill concrete in places like Las Vegas, King City, the San Francisco bay area, and Sacramento, and also out-of-state in places such as Nevada, New York, Washington, and in many other cities and states.
To succeed in this role, the General Manager will plan and oversee the daily operations of the organization to ensure goals and objectives are achieved. This is a key leadership position that requires strong business acumen, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of the concrete production industry.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Hires and trains new employees
Organizes and oversees the schedules and work assignments for staff
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed in accordance with company policies
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives and drive company growth
Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and stay ahead of the market
Make informed recommendations as to asset and resource allocation (e.g., rent, purchase, and/or selling of equipment)
Oversee all aspects of concrete production operations, ensuring high-quality production and on-time delivery of products
Optimize production processes, resource utilization, and workflow to enhance efficiency and productivity
Develops and manages the company’s annual budget, including revenue projections, expense control and cost optimization
Monitors financial performance and prepares regular reports for executive management
Builds and leads a high-performing team, including department managers, supervisors, and staff
Provide guidance, coaching, and support to employees, fostering a positive work environment and promoting professional growth
Identifies and pursues new business opportunities, including expanding customer base and securing long-term contracts
Have a positive attitude
Must have good time management skills
