Full-Time Mechanic Position Available

We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Mechanic to join our team full-time at the George L. Throop Company.

We are a concrete production company located in Pasadena, California. The Throop Company has worked on almost every freeway or highway in southern California from San Diego to Santa Barbara. We have poured Rapid Set concrete, Type II concrete, and light-weight fill concrete in places like Las Vegas, King City, the San Francisco bay area, and Sacramento, and also out-of-state in places such as Nevada, New York, Washington, and in many other cities and states.

To succeed in this role, you should be physically fit and have a solid knowledge of basic mechanic tools, service, and diagnostic equipment. General knowledge of truck maintenance is essential. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, with good communication skills.

This mechanic position requires a general knowledge of truck maintenance including hydraulic systems (preferably in concrete batch plant mixers) and welding experience.

Job Requirements:

• Experience with hydraulic systems, augers, and preferably the mechanical workings of a concrete batch plant mixer.
• General knowledge of truck maintenance
• Must have a minimum of 2 years experience as a mechanic
• Will be responsible for inspecting and repairing vehicles and machinery
• You should be able to assemble mechanical components and perform repairs
• Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records
• Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and physical exam
• Must be adaptable and be dependable
• Have a positive attitude
• Must have good time management skills
• Must be punctual
•  Bi-lingual a plus
• Open to working weekends
